What and Where Is Main Street?

While Denton does not technically have a “Main Street”, it has been a Texas Main Street city since 1989. The Main Street Program is a worldwide program to revitalize downtown areas. Denton Main Street focuses on revitalization of the downtown Denton Central Business District.

The Denton Main Street Association (DMSA) is a 501(c) 6 non-profit organization made up of businesses and community members who preserve and market the downtown area through the combined efforts of public/private partnerships.

The Denton Main Street Association Board of Directors depends on volunteers and members to make it all happen in downtown. For more information on the Denton Main Street Program and membership in the association, see the “About” page.
