Downtown's spring season starts rockin' this March

The spring season is when the festival's in the downtown start crankin' up and there is something to do on every corner.  This month brings lots of opportunites to have a great time downtown.

First Friday is always kicking off the fun each month at various galleries located in the West Oak and Cedar Street area. You can find some art, fun and entertainment. The event always features local artists.  Stroll the galleries, and you can even work on a community art masterpiece from time to time. See for details on this monthly event.

35 Denton Music Festival is a walkable 4-day music festival taking place March 7-13 in in historic downtown Denton providing an intimate experience of the Indie music scene and music from bands locally or halfway around the world. The 28th Annual Denton Storytelling Festival kicks off March 7th at the Denton Civic Center, 221 E. McKinney Street. Be sure to catch some of the tallest tales and fun.  Visit for information on this festival and more in Denton.

If you are looking for something to entertain the young family members during Spring Break, bring them down and let them be like kids in a candy store with the many choices to shop for sweet treats, and even some great comic books or classic tales in local book stores.  There are lots of places to browse, shop, dine, or just sit and soak in some springtime sun. 

The Denton Community Market will be in full swing this month, too. They are located in the Denton County Historical Park parking lot at the corner of Mulberry and Carroll Blvd. and it is a great place to check-out locally grown and hand-made products.
