Fall brings a harvest of events in downtown Denton

While the Fall season officially started last week, this week truly kicks off Fall "downtown Denton style." There is something every weekend in downtown Denton with music, festival fun, food, entertainment and more. All this in addition to the plethora of shopping, dining and arts and cultural entertainment destinations that are on the square and literally around every corner and beyond every day of the week.

Be sure to check out the following events this month, starting Friday, October 2nd:

First Friday Denton , Oct. 2 -  art activities, live music, exhibits and more on the first Friday of each month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at participating merchants. Start out on West Oak Street and work your way around downtown to the various participating locations. Check out www.FirstFridayDenton.com for more.

October Fest on Walnut off the Square, Oct. 2 - festival fun with food, live music, variety of beers, vendors with shirts, jewelry, and other goods. 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Walnut and Elm Streets, south of the square. Check it out on Facebook at Walnut off the Square. Admission is free.

Twilght Tunes every Sunday afternoon from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in October starting Oct. 4th through Oct. 25th.  Concerts are free and take place on the lawn.  Catch the details on the Events page of this website. 

UNT Homecoming and parade - catch the fun and excitement of fall football at UNT's Homecoming game on Saturday, Oct. 10th.  Start the day out watching a great parade as it comes through downtown Denton approximately 11:15 am (line up starts at 11 am on the UNT campus and route comes down Hickory, around the square and back up Oak). 

Industrial Street International Pop Festival on October 18th - yep, that's right, it's on Industrial Street in downtown Denton. Live music throughout the day between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m..  Admission is free. Check out details on their Facebook page, Industrial Street Pop Festival. 

Denton's Day of the Dead Festival is October 24th - coffin races,salsa cook-off, festival fun, side shows, arts/crafts vendors and more at this original Denton event. Come enjoy the fun between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Industrial Street. Check out all the details at www.dentondayofthedeadfestival.com.  

Halloween Trick or Treating around the downtown square and beyond is Thursday, Oct. 29th from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. - the businesses just keep on giving in downtown Denton this month. No tricks, just treats. Come out and have a good time. Start your fun at the participating businesses around downtown and follow the map to get a list of the stops. Start out on the square at any of the participating locations and make your way around and beyond to more than 50 locations.
