November is a plentiful month for special events, so get ready for the festive fun in downtown Denton. First Friday festivities start off the month on the evening of November 1st followed by the annual Holiday Open House Weekend on Nov. 8th - 10th, so bring your friends and family downtown for a great time.
Several locations in downtown are participating in this month's First Friday, including fun at the West Oak Street galleries with a Kids Reuse Art activity at SCRAP Denton and acoustic guitar music at A Creative Art Studio. Then stroll on over to the square for a visit to the Courthouse on the Square Museum and stop and shop at Garden Gate. After, stop in for a wine tasting hosted by Vigne Wine Shop (on East Hickory). Be sure to come back the next weekend on Nov. 8th, 9th and 10th for the Downtown Denton Holiday Open House Weekend where you can special promotions at 52 stores and restaurants. Bring a gently-used coat and have the chance to take a picture with Santa from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 and Sunday, Nov. 9. This photo opportunity is a bring-your-own-camera event with the Denton County Courthouse-on-the-Square as the backdrop. Photos take place across the street from the courthouse in the courtyard next to the Sherman Building on Elm and Hickory streets. The coat drive will benefit those in need.
