Painting downtown this weekend starts with First Friday on November 2nd during First Friday, a monthly art event hosted by galleries in downtown. Galleries typically open at 7 p.m. and have live music, artists' shows, and art demonstrations every first Friday of the month. Oxide Gallery, 211 N. Cedar, will be celebrating Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) this Friday night during First Friday. So, come out to the Cedar and West Oak Street area art galleries Friday for some art and fun. The streets of downtown will become a sea of green Saturday during the UNT Homecoming Parade that begins on the UNT Campus and marches its way up Hickory around the square and back down Oak Street to kick off the Homecoming game festivities. The parade starts at 11 a.m. Go Mean Green!
