Last week's first Twilight Tunes of the season was a beautiful reminder of just how much we love Denton. Missed out this time? Scroll on to catch up with a few photos and a quick recap of the evening's festivities.
Like clockwork, Denton residents gathered with lawn chairs and good eats from downtown stops in tow for another round of our favorite night of the week: Thursday's Twilight Tunes. This week was a bit more special than others, as we kicked off the Tunes season with the help of our friends over at Thin Line Fest. Celebrating 10 years of amazing film, photography and music, the good people of Line Fest X kindly shared their staging and sound equipment to ensure an impeccable kick off. Local favorite folksters The Monkberries crooned our favorite Beatles tunes, along with a few uniquely beautiful originals, that transformed the evening into a more family affair. With these guys, we felt right at home.
After a brief word from MSA President Glen Farris, we sent our most precious of donation seekers (aka our audience members' kids) to seek out financial support for future Twilight Tunes, the Monkberries closed out the evening with a heartfelt message of thanks to the Denton community for doing what it does best: supporting local musicians and the arts as best they can.
We've said it before and we'll say it again: Denton truly is the best place to live. We couldn't imagine being anywhere else. Find out why for yourself by joining us this Thursday for Twilight Tunes featuring Jeff Glover, Joe Pat Hennen, and Brian Houser.
