Downtown Denton welcomes summer with some sunsational promotions, including the the Twilight Tunes series through June 30, a deal around every corner with Retail Happy Hour in June, Customer Appreciation in July and Share the Love in August. The first “must do” to kick-off summer fun is attend a Twilight Tunes concert on a Thursday evening in June. It’s free and happens on the courthouse lawn from 6:30 – 8 p.m. and features local musicians with some great talent. Don’t worry, if it rains the show keeps going and moves indoors. Always check the website or Facebook page on the afternoon of the event for any location updates.
Then, mark the calendar to head downtown Wednesday afternoons and evenings through June 29th. It’s always a happy hour in Downtown Denton, but this one just got better. Every Wednesday afternoon in June shop during Retail Happy Hour between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., make a purchase at participating merchant, save the receipt and show it to any participating restaurant that night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for another special offer. It’s a great way to spark up the middle of the week and get out with family and friends to enjoy the gem of Denton.
The summer fun does not stop there. July continues with hot deals during Customer Appreciation every Wednesday. Each Wednesday merchants will offer different sales and specials. Keep up with all the stops on DMSA’s social media. And, mid-month is a sizzling sidewalk sale with plenty of places to shop and then cool off with a refreshing drink or a treat. In August some merchants with bring back the “Share the Love” promotion where shoppers and diners can earn $5 in Downtown Bucks for shopping and dining locally with downtown merchants. Looking ahead to the Fall, set the date to come September 10th , 9 am to 3 pm, for the Arts & Autos Extravaganza featuring a classic, hot rod and custom car, truck and motorcycle show. Plus, enjoy some live music, arts & crafter booths, kids zone, a Chalk Fest for all ages including adults, festival foods and all the offerings of the shops and restaurants. If you know someone with a very cool car or talented hand, encourage them to enter the contests, or just come out for a day full of family fun and you are sure to see some treasures.
